You’ve probably heard the old adage, ‘If you take care of your tools, then they’ll take care of you’. The idea is certainly a well-worn one, but it pays to remember that the basic premise extends to taking care of your kit in the kitchen as it is in all other areas of your life. Every machine and implement in your kitchen, from the electric kettle to the refrigerator, needs a good and thorough cleaning regularly so that they perform better and for a longer time.
This is particularly important in the case of your dishwasher. The cleanliness of your dishwasher directly impacts its own performance and the overall hygiene of the plates and glasses being washed in it. Do remember, unclean plates and glasses are less than ideal, because you use them to eat and drink from.
Over time, grease from your food and lime scale from the water flowing through it can clog the pipes of your dishwasher. They can also interfere with the spraying arm. A less than clean dishwasher can produce and retain foul odours that reach your plates and glasses, and the washer also does not reach its peak temperature while in action. And all of this, because the dishwasher is not cleaned regularly!
We suggest that you use a good dishwasher cleaner once a month so that the deposits of lime scale and grime are removed and prevented from building up for a longer time. The cleaner also makes sure that the dishwasher always performs at peak efficiency.
At Finish, we are always concerned about helping you with the onerous task of cleaning your dishwasher, because we know that your machine’s most important parts are the most difficult to clean. We also realise that the easier it is to clean your machine, the more likely it is that your machine remains cleaner for longer – and becomes a better performer in the process. We are often asked about the Finish Dishwasher Cleaner and how best to use it. So we decided to share some handy hints about using it and making the dishwasher cleaning process as simply as possible.
When using Finish Dishwasher Cleaner:
- First empty out the machine completely. Do not use any other soap or detergent.
- Place the cleaner bottle upside down but keep the lid on the bottle on. You may, however, remove the sticker on the bottle.
- Close the door and set the machine to a high/intense heat cycle. Start the machine.
- Once the cycle is finished, remove the bottle, recycle it, and use your dishwasher safe as you always do. You can now be secure in the knowledge that your machine is performing at optimum efficiency.
- Repeat this cleaning process about once a month, especially if you use the dishwasher regularly.
We hope this easy guide answers some of your biggest questions about using a dishwasher cleaner and why it’s important to use it for a clean machine. You only need to invest some time every month to clean the washer, and this small investment pays really rich dividends. Your washer efficiency is much improved, and your time is saved to do the important things that you love.
